The Overtones welcome a new band member!

It all went a bit quiet for a few months around the remaining Overtones Darren, Mark and Mike after the sudden sad loss of Timmy Matley in April 2018 and Lockie Chapman leaving the band a few months ago.

But the boys had a good reason to keep everything hush hush the past months. They just released a few big announcement countdown videos on their social media channels over the past days to keep the suspense up for all Toners!

The wait is over now and the big news has been revealed: The Overtones added a brand new fourth member. Please join us in welcoming, Jay James!

Jay is no stranger to the Toner fanbase, he supported The Overtones during their Platinum Celeb concerts for a few dates in 2016.

Welsh-born singer-songwriter Jay James burst onto the music scene in the summer of 2012 having written and featured on the song “Fly” by Cinematic. Jay became wider and more commercially known following an appearance on the X Factor in 2014, in which he finished on 8th place.

We had the chance to see Jay James perform live in Crewe back in 2016 as The Overtones support act and shared the following video with you:

Please check out Jay James’ official website if you want to learn more about him and his music.

You can also follow him on twitter and instagram.

We are very pleased with Darren, Mark and Mike’s  decision and choice to add Jay James to their group. Jay’s style in music fits perfectly to the vocal harmony and doowop songs by The Overtones and he is a dignified successor for Timmy and Lachie.

We are looking forward to many wonderful things to come and will continue to support all four Overtones. We can’t wait to welcome Jay personally in the near future!
